Jaime Bruce and Body Integration

Body Integration was established in September 2006 and  created by Jaime Bruce.  She brings to Body Integration over 15 years experience in physical fitness and Pilates.  Jaime was born and raised in Los Angeles and moved to Colorado eight years ago.  Prior to moving to Colorado she owned her own Personal Training business in Santa Monica, California where she designed home gyms and personal programs for clientele.  In all of her achievements she also worked for the Physical Therapy Institute in Los Angeles, where she worked closely with the therapist to rehabilitate clients from auto accidents, stroke patients, and the handicapped.  She specializes in golf, tennis, horseback riding, all winter sports, running and weight training.  She is certified through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), Pilates certified (Polestar Education and Peak Pilates), Post Rehabilitation (Future Fit) and Spinning (Johnny G).    With Jaime’s fitness background she enjoys teaching at all levels from the extreme athlete, to rehabilitating clients back to health.  She loves the challenge of taking clients to that next level.  She encourages clients to try different programs for more variety in their workouts to meet their goals.  She takes pride in her work and wants to see everyone succeed.

Our Team:

Melanie Bondarewicz

Melanie graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Health Promotion in 2000.  She received her Pilates certification in 2002 with Polestar Education and in 2006 with Peak Pilates.   She is a Personal Trainer certified through American College of Sports Medicine (2000).  Her background includes working with people with lower back issues and pain and other postural dysfunctions.  She also has extensive experience working with people who wish to enhance their personal fitness and performance.  Besides working one on one with clientele, she enjoys teaching small group classes on all of the Pilates equipment and in the Mat Work.

She loves exploring movement from a anatomical and bio-mechanical perspective.  She enjoys helping clients with injury prevention, recondition imbalances, and challenges themselves to their full potential.

She continues to study Pilates under second-generation teacher Cara Reeser of Pilates Aligned.  Cara studied under Kathy Grant, one of Joseph Pilates' original students and instructor in his New York City studio.

Her background includes all types of fitness.  Growing up she was always moving and playing sports.  In college she danced on the University of Iowa Dance Team.  Both performing for the school and competing nationally.  In 2003 she trained for the first time to compete as a bodybuilder.  In her first and only show, Colorado's biggest and most competitive amateur bodybuilder competition of the year, she took home first place in novice and open division in women's figure.  Competing nationally was hopefully next but training was stopped by my diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma in the following months. She is a cancer survivor and with that found a deeper perspective of life.

Testimonials:

"Jaime and I met through a very generous mutual friend, who gave me “the gift of Jaime” by way of training sessions. This was in 2001. I was 37 and hadn’t really done any form of organized exercise since … ok, since high school. Three things transformed my Jaime Experience from a gift of training sessions to a way of life: 1, the fact that it was a paid session, and if I didn’t go I was throwing money away. 2, Jaime’s well-meant brutalization – meaning, Jaime pushes you until your body whimpers, but she’s not pushy, and you never really feel like you’re being pushed. 3, the variety and creativity in the form of well-meant brutalization Jaime chooses. It’s no coincidence that her new place is called “Body Integration.” Jaime just knows how to put it all together – weights, Pilates, cardio, diet, nutrition – in a way that keeps you motivated and moving. Anyway, we’ve been together in fitness and friendship for six years now, and I can see us hobbling into the gym when we’re in our 80s."

"I am continually challenged and motivated by Jaime in Pilates and weight training.  She keeps my workouts fresh and more importantly fun.  I would have never thought when I started I would be training for a half marathon and enjoy it! I have increased flexibility, muscle tone and coordination and lost weight.  Not only have I met my goals but I have exceeded my expectations.

(May sound kind of cheesy but I really do mean it...thank you!)"

"After living for many years with chronic back pain as a result of a couple of accidents as well as poor genes, I was advised by my doctor to try Pilates.  I had already been in a rehab exercise program for some time and was still experiencing quite a bit of pain.

I begun taking Pilates and found that I enjoyed it very much.  I had some relief but still lived in quite a bit of pain.  Although I liked Pilates, I could not seem to stay committed to it.  I went through three different teachers over time, stopping and starting without noticing a huge difference in my pain level.

One day during a long stretch without Pilates, I decided to try a group class.  Jaime Bruce was the teacher of that class.  It was one of the best experiences I had ever had with Pilates.  Jaime knew how to explain everything clearly and in a wonderful step by step way that made it easy to follow.  I found myself being able to do some moves that I had not been able to do before.

I contacted Jaime and asked if we could set up some private lessons.  Not only did I find that Jaime could show me how to do Pilates in a way I could understand but she took the time to learn about my back.  She worked with my doctors to understand what was going on for me so she could develop the best program to help me.  She went that extra mile (and then some) to do the best job possible for me.

Jaime is extremely knowledgeable about health and the human body.  She takes classes to continually learn more. When I am with her, she is totally focused on me and it is obvious that she cares about making a difference in my life.  I am struck by how careful she is to always insure my safety.  In addition, Jaime is calm, level-headed and a delightful person to spend time with.

I started working with Jaime six years ago.  I have been taking private lessons consistently at least two times per week since then.  My back is in great shape and I rarely experience any pain.  I LOVE working with Jaime and I am totally committed to Pilates.  I am grateful that my experience with Jaime allows me to enjoy my life so much and feel so wonderful!"
